In the afternoon of Wednesday, the Public Ministry announced on social networks that the prosecutors of the Specialized Drug Trafficking Unit ordered the arrest of Juan Carlos Ozorio, until yesterday National Deputy for the ANR (official party). In the same post, they allege that in the framework of the investigation “A Ultranza Py” they had already been supposedly investigating it.
Alfredo Guachiré, a social activist and whistleblower, lamented that, despite the evidence against him, Juan Carlos Ozorio had access to his WhatsApp groups, to his phone and with this he was able to erase evidence, before the Public Ministry had decreed the arrest order.
“Both my source and I remain in danger. The prosecution should catch him and prosecute him much sooner. Also intervene the cooperative ”, he urged.
He stressed that he liked the message of the deputies, but not the actions of the authorities. In the sense of the almost null performance of the Prosecutor’s Office to at least initiate an investigation.

Zully Rolón, minister of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad), announced that she has already sent the documentation to the Prosecutor’s Office to open the case and appoint a prosecutor. She did so on Wednesday morning, however, from the Public Ministry she did not make a statement until after noon.
“Yesterday we found out, that is, Tuesday night. By the journalist and we sent today, ”he explained.
SEPRELAD
Carmen Pereira, deputy minister of Seprelad, pointed out that they cannot make value judgments about people and cases. But she affirms that the event that occurred reinforces the need to motivate compliance with the rules.
“Strengthen due diligence measures in all sectors. The obligated subjects of the financial system must be known. That they have to value this performance as a very important activity because it allows them to operate with legal certainty and prevent the system from being vulnerable”, he stated.
He said that Guachiré’s complaint is a criminis news (news that serves as a notice of a crime) and that, therefore, the Public Ministry must take it since it has the investigative power.
“We, within the framework of our powers, adopt the pertinent measures. We always have alerts and we carry out the corresponding analyzes”, he commented.
He pointed out that he cannot issue any information related to alerts that have arisen around Ozorio due to suspicious operations.
“As we see there is a high incidence of use of cash. We are looking at real estate operations. It is important to understand why they are obligated subjects”, he pointed out.
Finally, he said that he cannot make value judgments about other institutions before the consultation on how he sees the actions of the Public Ministry in this case.
VILLAREJO
Sebastián Villarejo, national deputy for the PPQ, questioned that this case has become public due to a post on Twitter. But not by the action of the Public Ministry. It should be remembered that the Prosecutor’s Office could have launched an informal investigation with much more haste.
In addition, given the seriousness of the complaint, there is a danger that Ozorio will flee the country.
