On the other hand, Minem revealed that in November, the mining sector It employed 244,813 people, that is, 3.3% more than what was registered in the same month a year earlier. With this result, the second highest figure was reached in 2024. In addition, an accumulation of 5.1% was achieved in the January – November period compared to the similar months of 2023.
“With respect to the type of employer, the job positions generated by contrasts (mining contrast companies and related companies) constituted 70.4% of total employment in the penultimate month of the year,” said Minem.
In November 2024, a total of 19,228 positions were held by women in the mining subsector, representing 7.9% of the total employment generated.
