Through a public statement, the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, urged Colombian President Gustavo Petro to address the issues that afflict the people of his country, after he offered statements in which he spoke about arrests in Venezuela.
In the text, the head of the Moral Power addressed the president in terms of respect, but also with the forcefulness of someone who defends the interests of the country and objective truth.
In this sense, he asked the Colombian ruler to urge him to carefully supervise who enters the territory of his country, since many of the captured mercenaries who planned to disturb the peace of Venezuela have come from there.
Likewise, he expressed his surprise at Petro’s lack of statement on the statements of former presidents Álvaro Uribe and Iván Duque, in which they called for military intervention against our country.
Saab urged the New Granada president not to repeat the speeches of those who want to oppress the continent through extremism, and invited him to reject violence, to respect the sovereignty of Venezuelan institutions and to move away from the positions of those who created large areas like graves in Colombia. common.

Dear President Petro: Take care of the serious problems of Colombia that we solve those of Venezuela
Your Excellency Mr. President Gustavo Petro.
I read with surprise his latest statement on a social network, in which he refers to people detained in different criminal proceedings in our country.
Known and respected President with whom I once shared meetings and ideals of emancipation for our Great Homeland: Venezuela has been and continues to be threatened from Colombian territory by criminal narco/paramilitary groups that control a good part of the territory under their jurisdiction.
I must remind you that it was in Colombia where the mercenaries hired by a nefarious foreign company were trained and from where they embarked to unleash a bloodbath in our country. That happened in full view of the Colombian authorities and to this day there has not been a single person prosecuted for those events.
The top leaders of Colombian drug paramilitarism, Álvaro Uribe and Iván Duque, have even threatened Venezuela again with foreign military intervention, in a public and notorious manner, a fact about which you have remained silent.
In the weeks prior to the inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro, dozens of mercenaries have been captured entering our territory from Colombia. Do the security agencies in your country not know who enters and who leaves their geography?
For the sake of peace on the continent, you should verify that Colombian security agencies fulfill their duties and protect the border we share.
You celebrate the release of a person, as an exceptional event, apparently due to ignorance of the Venezuelan reality: Since the end of last year, more than 1,500 people detained during the violent actions that followed the July 28 election have been released. This Public Ministry continues to review these and other causes with the purpose of providing the benefits of the law to those who apply.
In a context of transnational and multifactorial aggression against Venezuela, which we have described as the ultimate rehearsal of a hybrid war against our country and its institutions, we have defended through the Civil Military Unit: democracy, stability and internal peace in a exemplary, with full respect for constitutional guarantees and Human Rights.
It is well known that within this unconventional war there is the participation of some non-governmental organizations, which receive financing from USAID: a context that you cannot, for the sake of being objective, ignore.
Dear President, I do not see the Head of State Nicolás Maduro Moros meddling in the internal affairs of Colombia. We respond when from Colombia the enemies of Venezuela vilely attack us to unleash terrorist acts.
With all due respect, I tell you, you must take care of Colombia, which has multiple and serious problems: here we take care of ours. Do you believe that by attacking Venezuela you will save yourself from the executioners that threaten our popular democracies? Don’t you think his speech is too similar to that of these characters who turned vast regions of Colombia into a mass grave? What do you gain by looking like those serial killers? The peace of the continent requires a different approach from you, in your capacity as Head of Government.
The Venezuelan people and the Colombian people have been united by powerful ties since the times of independence. We have a shared culture and we want to strengthen the binational relationship for mutual benefit.
That is why we want a Colombia in peace, as we have achieved in a colossal way that there is peace in Venezuela. May America be a land free of paramilitarism and paid lackeys who ask for invasions of sister countries.
