“The President of Costa Rica has received us to share opinions on the Venezuelan crisis and the impact on the region. Democracy in Costa Rica is part of its identity, it is a country that defends democratic and pacifist values, consolidating itself as an example in Latin America. Your support for the Venezuelan cause has full value,” said González.
For his part, President Chaves insisted on the demand for publication of the voting records of the presidential elections of July 28.
“We are not going to give up supporting them, there must be transparency, the electoral records must be published with the world,” he stressed.
“They are not going to be alone, they have the support of the democracies in the world,” added Chaves.
González Urrutia was also received by the president of the Legislative Assembly, Rodrigo Arias.
“Costa Rica receives you with hope and conviction, move forward with the certainty that as our own history teaches, efforts for freedom always find their reward,” said Arias.
To the Venezuelans in Costa Rica, González Urrutia said: “Get packing your bags because one of my first decrees will be for you to return.”

He also urged them to replicate what they learned in that country for the reconstruction of Venezuela.

“Here in Costa Rica they say pure life. Very soon we will say pure freedom in Venezuela,” he said.
