Binational: Bolivia and Peru seal 10 agreements on gas, sale of urea and BoA

In the midst of a cordial atmosphere, the governments of Bolivia and Peru signed this Saturday a set of documents referring to cooperation for conservation and research in Lake Titicaca, the commercialization of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), gas pipelines and the sale of urea for agricultural use. In this context, there was also talk of taking Boliviana de Aviación to Peruvian air.

A high-level delegation led by Peruvian President Pedro Castillo arrived in La Paz to participate in the VI Binational Cabinet that ended after noon with the signing of the Joint Declaration and Plan of Action of La Paz.

The Casa Grande del Pueblo was the scene of the meeting in which Arce gave his counterpart the Condor de Los Andes, the country’s highest distinction.

“The brotherhood between Peru and Bolivia is one of the most historic, this year we have celebrated 195 years of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, which have been developed within the framework of friendship, understanding and mutual respect between our peoples”, said the Bolivian president after the conclusion of the meeting.

Arce highlighted the climate of good neighborliness that Bolivia maintains with the neighboring country and, in this context, he pondered the physical, energy and border integration that both nations promote and that are translated into pillars of foreign policy with a view to the Pacific.

“To think of Peru is to connect to the Pacific Ocean, it is to project and expand our trade through the port of Ilo, it is to work together in fifth-generation communications. We are very hopeful in developing mechanisms that facilitate border transit and trade, ”he said.

In turn, the Peruvian president thanked the distinction and emphasized that the ties between the two countries are strengthened by strengthening the commercial and tourist relationship, facilitating the transit of people, goods and services, among others.

“We have just successfully carried out the VI Binational Cabinet, whose results in the four areas of work will allow us to advance in the strengthening and deepening of our mutual agreements and our bilateral relationship, placing special emphasis on improving the living conditions of the inhabitants. who live on both sides of our borders ”, he highlighted.

After the event, the Vice Minister of Communication of Bolivia, Gabriela Alcón, revealed that one of the commitments reached between both nations is to take the Bolivian state line of Aviation to Peru.

“(It corresponds) to start moving forward and already have a sheet of what has to do with the Ilo port, the direct flights of Boliviana de Aviación in this connection between Peru and Bolivia,” he said.

On the table is also the homologation of professional titles.

These are the signed documents:

1. Binational Memorandum that approves the Annual Operational Plan (POA) of the Binational Autonomous Authority of the Water System of Lake Titicaca, Río Desaguadero, Lake Poopó and Salar de Coipasa – ALT.

2. Binational Memorandum for the Transfer of Assets from the Autonomous Binational Authority of the Water System of Lake Titicaca, Desaguadero River, Lake Poopó and Salar de Coipasa – ALT to the National Naval Hydrography Service of Bolivia – SNHN.

3. Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energies of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Republic of Peru for the Commercialization of LPG in populations of Peru.

4. Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Republic of Peru for Energy Integration through the Interconnection of Gas Pipelines.

5. Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energies of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Republic of Peru on the construction and operation of Natural Gas distribution networks in border towns and other the Republic of Peru.

6. Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energies of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation of the Republic of Peru for the promotion of the commercialization of urea for agricultural use.

7. International Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement for the Exchange of Experiences and Institutional Strengthening between the Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Republic of Peru.

8. Interinstitutional Agreement between the Ministry of Public Works, Services and Housing of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Peru for the Establishment of a Protocol for the Measurement of the Technical Parameters of Radio and Television Services in the Border Zone.

9. Specific Agreement between the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ministry of Production of the Republic of Peru for the Annual Research Cruises on Lake Titicaca.

10. Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement between the National Service of Intellectual Property – SENAPI of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property – INDECOPI of the Republic of Peru.
