La Cainco and Chancay sign agreement for business and tourism development

Santa Cruz de la Sierra hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Cainco, the Municipality of Chancay and tourism entities of Santa Cruz, with the purpose of promoting business, tourism and logistics development between Bolivia and Peru.

The Peruvian commune has a megaport that will reduce export times to Asian markets by up to 15 days.

The event, held on January 14 at the Cainco Business Hall, had the participation of the presidents of the Departmental Chamber of Hospitality of Santa Cruz (Cadehcruz), the Gastronomic Chamber of Santa Cruz (Cadeg), the Bolivian Association of Agencies of Travel and Tourism (Abavyt) and the Santa Cruz Convention & Visitors Bureau, as well as businessmen from the export and import sector and representatives of the Bolivian industry.

Agreement objectives

The Memorandum establishes commitments to promote bilateral business between Santa Cruz and Chancay; develop joint projects in tourism and logistics. In addition to appointing those responsible to coordinate the actions.

The Port of Chancay, located in the Lima region, is presented as a strategic point for Bolivian companies, facilitating access to international markets. This port, on the Pacific, plays a key role in regional connectivity and commercial expansion.

The agreement seeks to boost the economy of both regions by promoting trade, tourism and business cooperation. Cainco highlighted that this alliance will strengthen bilateral relations and open sustainable business opportunities.

This agreement represents an important step towards regional integration, laying the foundations for a collaboration that will benefit both Bolivia and Peru, with a focus on shared economic and tourism development.
