Santiago.- The vice president of the Republic, Raquel Penatogether with the Minister of Sports Kelvin Cruzstarted this Wednesday the work for the renovation of the Domingo Paulino Club (CDP) for an amount of RD$36 million and delivered RD$17 million to air condition the Gran Arena del Cibao.
These works aim to continue promoting sport as a tool for human development.
Furthermore, these initiatives are part of a series of transformations developed by the Governmentthrough the Ministry of Sports led by the minister Kelvin Cruzto turn each sports facility into a growth center.
For the vice president, these acts constitute “one more step towards a stronger Santiago and a Dominican Republic full of opportunities.”
Likewise, he highlighted that each renovated or built space becomes “a place where unity, effort and dreams become realities.”
Minister Cruz highlighted that the CDP has had great achievements in several sports disciplines and the modification of the conditions of its field and roof of the place will provide improvements that will be reflected in its next results.
Likewise, he reported that nearly 36 million pesos have been allocated for the work and it is a promise fulfilled after the meetings of the minister and Vice President Raquel Peña with the region’s sports leadership at the end of 2024.
The renovations include supply and placement of metal structure, construction of dressing rooms, enclosing walls, bathrooms, administrative offices, installation of connection and network distribution, among other works.
After finishing this event, the vice president moved to the Gran Arena del Cibao Dr. Oscar Gobaira to present, together with the head of the Ministry of Sports, a check for 17 million pesos to air-condition the aforementioned infrastructure.
The multipurpose sports facility in Santiago will also undergo other adaptations that have been accumulated for more than a decade.
The provincial governor Rosa Santos, mayor Ulises Rodríguez, senator Daniel Rivera, the provincial director of Sports Tony Peña R., and the directors of Edenorte and Coraasan, Andrés Cueto and Andrés Burgos, among others, participated.
