The Brazilian economy grew 0.1% in November, compared to October, the Central Bank (BC) reported today (16).
The data comes from the BC Economic Activity Index (IBC-Br), considered a kind of preview of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The index rose from 154 to 154.2 points in the period, the highest level in the historical series.
According to the BC, during the year the index rose 3.8% and, in the 12 months up to November, the IBC-Br grew 3.6%.
In the quarter ended in November, the indicator grew 0.89%, compared to the previous three months, considering the seasonally adjusted series.
In the unadjusted series, the IBC-Br expanded 5.5% in the quarter up to November, compared to the same period in 2023.
The IBC-Br monitors economic activity month by month. The indicator provides information on industry activity, agriculture, trade and services, among others, and anticipates possible inflationary pressures.
