Care Assessment: How long can you receive your payment if you are unbanked?

Care Assessment: How long can you receive your payment if you are unbanked?

The Care Valuation program, part of the Citizen Income in Colombiaoffers financial support to households in vulnerable situations. At the moment, Cycle 6 payments are being made for unbanked beneficiaries. Until when can these families receive payment?

Households that perform unpaid care work and are not banked can withdraw their charges from this Wednesday, January 15th and until the end of January, more precisely, until the 30th of that month.

Payments are available through different modalities, including service points such as SuperGIROS, Efecty, and Reval, as well as through electronic wallets such as Movii and BICO.

On the other hand, beneficiaries will receive a text message that will inform them about the corresponding payment method.

What will be the future of the Care Assessment line?

Despite the budget cuts announced for 2025, the Care Assessment component will continue to be active, ensuring its availability for the most vulnerable households in the country.

The program is designed to:
-SISBEN IV Group A households: This group includes families that are in conditions of extreme poverty.

-Families with children under six years of age: Priority is given to households that are responsible for caring for young children, recognizing the importance of this unpaid work.

-People with disabilities: Homes that care for people with disabilities are also an important focus of the program.

-Indigenous homes: Those who have children under six years of age and belong to indigenous communities are equally benefited.

It is important to remember that this help is framed within a broader context that recognizes the importance of unpaid care work, which is often carried out by women in the home.
