The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during his annual message to the Nation reported that from 2016 to 2024 the homicide rate in the country has been reduced by 90%.
When mentioning the figure, the President congratulated the Ministers of the Interior who have passed through that portfolio. “Venezuela is the safest country on the entire American continent,” he stressed.
From the Ríos Reyna Room of the Teresa Carreño Theater, the head of state announced that for the first quarter of this year 2025, the process of police refoundation in the country and relaunch of the Peace Quadrants will take place.
He ordered the creation of a new prison regime to be applied in all Venezuelan prisons “free of corruption and pranes.”
“In addition, we will have a new prison regime. The prisons will be work schools. “We have made progress, but we are going to a new stage,” he said.
Likewise, Maduro will support the physical and logistical establishment for the installation of Justices of the Peace throughout the national territory.
