Minister Yasmín Esquivel Mossa warned that the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PJF) could be left without proposing candidates for the election on June 1 of this year due to the decisions of a federal judge no competition
on the matter, of the PJF Evaluation Committee and the plenary session of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN).
In a video that he published yesterday on social networks, the togada indicated that the PJF Evaluation Committee suspended the process of electing candidates for judges, magistrates and ministers on January 7 by complying with the first definitive suspension issued by a federal judge of Michoacán, which ordered the Judicial, Executive and Legislative committees to stop their work for an injunction against the judicial reform.
Citizens will not be able to vote for the candidates of the Judiciary because the evaluation committee has suspended the procedure. The full Court has already determined that this decree is an electoral matter. Obviously, the district judge is incompetent to admit and incompetent to suspend, open the incident and issue the definitive suspension
he points out.
The minister also criticized that, in a private session, the SCJN plenary session determined last Monday not to revoke the agreement of the PJF Evaluation Committee with which it stopped its selection process, as requested by Esquivel Mossa and her peers Lenia Batres Guadarrama and Loretta Ortiz Ahlf.
It seems very delicate to me that there are no candidates on February 8 that the Judiciary Evaluation Committee has to send to the Senate and the Judiciary Evaluation Committee is left without candidates. There are more than a thousand people registered in a state of uncertainty waiting for this work to continue, a violation of the political-electoral rights of aspiring judges, magistrates, and ministers.
highlighted Esquivel Mossa.
