Undefeated in the Champions League of the Americas, the Flamengo and Minas basketball teams advanced to the quarterfinals, even before the start of the last window of group stage clashes. On Monday night (13), the two clubs reached their fourth victory in four games in the second window of the group stage. The Rio and Minas Gerais clubs join the Sesi Franca, classified last Saturday (11)also with 100% success rate.
Even with a guaranteed presence in the quarterfinals, Brazilian clubs will play the games in the third and final window in February. The Champions League brings together 12 teams divided into four groups. The champion will represent the Americas in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Intercontinental Cup, equivalent to a basketball club world cup, in September 2025.

Minas, leader of Group C, defeated defending champion Quimsa (Argentina) 80-69, at Estádio 8 de Junio, in Uruguay. The highlights on the Brazilian side were Franco Baralle (16 points and two rebounds) and Montero (16 points). The Minas Gerais team leads with eight points, followed by Biguá (Uruguay) with four and Quimsa with three points.
Rubro-Negro from Rio defeated Argentina’s Boca Júniors, winning 96 to 61, at the Roberto Durán Arena, in Panama. The best on the court were from the Rio team: Alexey Borges (17 points, six assists and 70% shooting efficiency) and Shaquille Johnson, scorer of the match with 22 points scored.

To thesecond group stage window continues until January 18th. According to the regulations, each participating club hosts one round of the Champions League at home. Only the top two in each group will advance to the quarterfinals, scheduled for March. From the semifinals onwards, there will be unique clashes, in just one venue, which will still be established by FIBA. The title decision will be in April.
