The vice minister for Latin America of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Rander Peña, released this Tuesday a statement from the Anti-Fascist International, Guatemala Chapter, where the social movements of the Central American country repudiate the presence of the former presidential candidate and fugitive from Venezuelan justice, according to records. of the Public Ministry, Edmundo González.
This was reported on his Telegram channel, where he urges the dissemination of the text in which they reject the presence of the “character represents death, terrorism and imperialist interference against the sovereignty of the brother people of Venezuela.”
“I receive this statement from the social movements and political organizations grouped in the Antifascist International Guatemala Chapter, repudiating the presence of the infamous Inmundo who has arrived in Guatemala. “Let’s spread the word!” said Peña.
Below is the full text of the statement:
The Antifascist International, Guatemala Chapter, in the name of the will for peace that characterizes the noble Guatemalan people, expresses its most energetic rejection of the arrival of Edmundo González to our national territory.
This character represents death, terrorism and imperialist interference against the sovereignty of the brother people of Venezuela. Their presence in our country constitutes a direct attack on the values of peace, justice and solidarity that guide our anti-fascist struggle in defense of the people of Latin America.
Edmundo González is a symbol of the forces that have historically attacked the inalienable right of the Venezuelan people to live in peace and build their own destiny. Their actions and speech are closely linked to imperial interests, which seek to perpetuate the plundering of natural resources and the subordination of our nations.
As Guatemalans committed to peace, we demand that Bernardo Arévalo and his government stop lending themselves to the impositions of North American imperialism, which is manifested in their support for this character and their attacks against the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people, who elected Nicolás Maduro as its president of the Republic.
We denounce the continuity of the campaign of aggression promoted by the Venezuelan fascist right, in complicity with the puppet governments to which Guatemala has shamefully joined.
We repudiate the fascist and interventionist actions that some Venezuelan embassies have suffered, thus attacking their sovereignty.
We call on governments not to allow actions against Venezuelan property and territory, which are located in other countries.
We reiterate our full solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution; its legitimate President Nicolás Maduro Moros and with the Venezuelan people in their sovereign and inalienable right to decide their own destiny without external interference.
We call on the Guatemalan people, social organizations and solidarity movements in the region, to strengthen Latin American and Caribbean unity against those who seek to impose hatred and oppression.
We express our commitment to defend and resist, together with the Venezuelan people in our fight against fascism.
For the peace of Venezuela and against fascism!
