According to the statement, since the start of the company’s operations, in May 2024, 93 criminal events have been recorded, of which 80 have been robberies and 13 acts of vandalism, with losses close to half a million dollars.
“In the last three months, the situation has escalated alarmingly, with 42 robberies and 11 additional acts of vandalism, marking a trend that puts operational sustainability and security in the area at risk,” he explained.
He indicated that these criminal actions not only affect the company’s operations, but have also caused the fall of medium voltage poles, leaving exposed power lines that represent an imminent danger to our workers, the personnel of the contracting companies and the communities. surrounding
He said that these actions have directly impacted income from royalties, taxes and other essential resources destined for the development of the region.

The company highlighted that, given the serious situation, it intensified its security actions and has strengthened collaboration with the National Police of Peru (PNP) to guarantee that those responsible for these criminal acts are identified, captured and confronted with the full weight of the law. law.
“We urgently call on the Ministry of the Interior and the PNP to reinforce surveillance efforts in the area and provide the necessary support to restore security and prevent new attacks,” he said.
“We also urge the population to collaborate by providing information that allows us to identify those responsible and stop this wave of crime that threatens the development of Talara,” he added.
