Russian news channel RT It offers an official position related to the government of Vladimir Putin, who is carrying out a military intervention in the Donbass region, a territory that has declared itself independent but that Ukraine and the international community recognize as Ukrainian.

It was included in the programming grid of Vera TV, Antel’s streaming service until this Tuesday when the entity’s president, Gabriel Gurméndez, ordered that it be withdrawn.

“We have just ordered the immediate suspension of the broadcast on VERA TV of the Russian signal RT, a channel at the service of propaganda and justification of Russia’s violent military invasion of Ukraine, an action condemned by our country,” said the hierarch through his twitter account.

The Russian Embassy in Uruguay stated that it “regrets the decision.” Through their Twitter account, they invited people to inform themselves using the Telegram messaging network: “Given the increasingly aggressive policy of Western social networks and their intentions to silence all alternative points of view, we remind you that the Embassy has its Telegram channel where the latest news about our country is shared”.
