Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba includes Rodolfo Dávalos on its list of repressors

MIAMI, United States. — The non-governmental organization Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (FHRC) included Cuban lawyer Rodolfo Dávalos Fernández, 84, in its list of “white-collar repressors.” The Miami-based entity defined Dávalos Fernández as a “devil’s advocate family boss.”

The FHRC’s RepresionesCubanos.com project details that Dávalos Fernández began in the so-called Revolutionary Courts of Matanzas in the 1960s, and that his role within the economic and legal framework of the regime became more visible after “directing from La “Havana the judicial process promoted by Fidel Castro in favor of the five spies of the so-called Wasp Network.”

As a result of that experience, the lawyer published a book titled United States vs. five heroes: a silenced trial. There he maintains that the case of the agents recruited by Havana represented “the breakdown of the US judicial system.”

Dávalos’s influence is not limited to his professional work. The report emphasizes that his family “enjoys a life at the level of the haute bourgeoisie.” His daughter receives particular mention, Lourdes Davalosrecognized for displaying luxury brands and staying in five-star hotels during their trips to the Island. For his part, his son, Rodolfo Dávalos León, resides in Miami, where he founded the company Caribbean Ventures Management LLC in 2016 in the state. of Delaware.

At the time, Dávalos Fernández declared to the official website Cubasi that “the Five, Elián, the blockade” were “revolutionary causes” to which he has dedicated much of his life. “They are causes of the country,” he said.

The inclusion of Dávalos on the FHRC list of repressors occurs after his participation, in January 2023, as a lawyer for the regime in the London litigation against the CRF I investment fund, which demanded the payment of a million-dollar debt to Cuba. .
