Less than 72 hours after presenting the motion of censure, the spokesperson for the Honor and Democracy (HyD) bench, the main promoter of the removal of the president of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, announced that he has begun collecting 77 signatures to call to an extraordinary plenary session, and put their request to a vote.
Montoya declared today on channel N that he hopes to obtain, as soon as possible, the 77 required signatures.
Perú21 reported, last Friday, that the Honor and Democracy bench, headed by Congressman Jorge Montoya, promoted the motion of censure against Salhuana for two reasons: political responsibility in the crisis generated by the Andrea Vidal case, and his trip to China in middle of that situation.
The aforementioned motion was presented, on that date, with 22 signatures. According to the legislator, according to the legislative technical consultations, when the Permanent Commission takes office, due to the recess of the legislative period, only at least 20 signatures were required to present the aforementioned motion of censure, and not 33 signatures as is the case. requirement in an ordinary legislative period.
During the day, Congressman Jaime Quito, from the Socialist bench, requested that an extraordinary plenary session be convened to vote on the aforementioned motion of censure.
For his part, congressman Esdras Medina, from the Popular Renewal bench, had announced that his parliamentary group was going to promote this motion, but in the end he adhered to the one promoted by HyD.
Montoya indicated that this afternoon he was going to begin collecting the 77 signatures required to convene the extraordinary plenary session.
