He Ministry of Relations Foreign Affairs (Mirex) reported on the appointment of five ambassadors and ambassadorsof which four are rotating headquarters and one is a new diplomatic representative.
The institution announced that the president Luis Abinader ordered, through decree number 2-25, the designation of the diplomats career: Francis Manuel Comprés Hernández as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in the Republic from Indiawho worked as chargé d’affaires at the Dominican Embassy in the State of Israel, already Rachel Jacob as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Trinidad and Tobago, who rotates from the embassy in Antigua and Barbuda.
Another appointee is Xerxes F. Suriel Mota as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in the Republic of Cuba after serving as chargé d’affaires in the Republic Bolivarian of Venezuela until July 2024.
The same decree designates Sarah E. Altagracia Paulino Cárdenas as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in the Plurinational State of Bolivia, who rotates from the Dominican Embassy in Guatemala; already Ricardo Thomas Polanco Reinoso, as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Republic from Guatemala.
It is expected that in the future the Senate ratify these appointments, as provided in article 128 of the Dominican Constitution.
About those appointed
Francis Manuel Comprés Hernández is a career diplomat. In addition to his last function at the Embassy in Israel, he has been alternate representative at the Dominican Mission to UNESCO and minister counselor at the Dominican Embassy to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Rachel Jacob She is also a career diplomat. She began her diplomatic career in 2004 as consul general in Montreal, and later, in 2018 to date, she became ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda.
Xerxes F. Suriel Mota is a career diplomat. Before being chargé d’affaires at the Embassy in Venezuela, he has represented the country in various positions diplomats in the delegations in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Argentina and Colombia, as well as in the internal service in the Dominican Foreign Ministry.
Sarah E. Altagracia Paulino Cárdenas was a member of the Central American and Caribbean Association of Labor and Social Security Law; deputy to the National Congress and the Central American Parliament. From 2020 to date, she is the Dominican ambassador to Guatemala.
Ricardo Thomas Polanco Reinoso for the first time will serve as diplomatic representative of Republic Dominican. Reynoso is a Dominican businessman and politician; deputy to the Central American Parliament between 2020-2024.
