This Sunday, January 12, the former Attorney General of the Republic Isaías Rodríguez died, as announced by the political leader Elías Jaua through his social networks.

Isaías Rodríguez, a lawyer by profession, was also vice president of the Republic after the reform that gave rise to the 1999 Constitution during the second year of former President Hugo Chávez’s mandate.
He was born in Valle de la Pascua, Guárico, on December 16, 1942. He died at 82 years of age.
He was a member of the constituent assemblies of 1999 and 2017. In October 2017 he was removed from his position as second vice president of the defunct constituent assembly, after making a series of criticisms about the promises made in economic matters.
At that time he stated that this entity was “the response to a situation (…) It was a “tactical” response that, at a bad time, became “strategic.” The last position he held was that of Venezuelan Ambassador to Italy.
