The secretary general of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA – TCP), Jorge Arreaza, rejected this Sunday the request of former Colombian president Álvaro Uribe, who recently asked at a public meeting that there be a military intervention in Venezuela.

Uribe Vélez’s statements came after the recent swearing-in of the re-elected president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on January 10th.
“What we advocate is an international military intervention with the Venezuelan army that dislodges the dictatorship,” said the former president from the Colombian side of the border, in Cúcuta.
This is not the first time that the former president has carried out acts of interference in the nation and violated the international law of the sovereignty of the people.
