Jeferson Ruiz is the best Colombian in the general classification.
The place Johnny Araujo won this Sunday the first stage of the Return to Táchirathe biggest cycling test in Venezuela, in which the Colombian Jeferson Ruiz was the foreigner with the best appearance, crossing the finish line in fifth place.
Araujo, a member of the Trujillo Government team, stopped the stopwatches at 3 hours, 44 minutes and 3 seconds, on an urban circuit between the towns of San Cristóbal and Táriba, with a route of 154.4 km.
To lead the competition, he surpassed Emmanuel Viloria in the sprint, who finished in second place in this inaugural stage.

Yonathan Eugenio completed the podium of the day, 21 seconds behind Araujo and Viloria.
Roniel Campos, three-time champion of the event, he made himself known by occupying the fourth box, escorted by the Colombian Ruiz.
The 60th edition of the Andean tour, which opens the calendar of the Tour in America of the International Cycling Union (UCI), will travel 1,187.7 kilometers in eight stages until next Sunday, January 19, in search of a new champion with the winner of 2024 , the Ecuadorian Jonathan Caicedo, absent. The second stage will be held on Monday.
José Rujano, Venezuelan cycling icon, heads the honor roll with four championships (2004, 2005, 2010 and 2015). Campos collects three (2020, 2021 and 2022), as well as Manuel Medina (2006, 2008 and 2011) and the Colombians Martín Rodríguez (1966, 1968, 1971) and Álvaro Pachón (1969, 1970 and 1974).
