Military authorities detained a Guyanese-flagged vessel that entered Venezuelan waters without authorization, according to reports collected.
The procedure took place in the Port of Guamache, Nueva Esparta state, where the tanker named Four Plus, IMO registration: 920393, Guyanese flag, with a crew of Chinese nationality, docked, says the report prepared by a multidisciplinary team, to which we had partial access.
The tanker did not have authorization to navigate in territorial waters.
When the news became known, a mixed commission was formed made up of Captain Jackson Bacallao González, commander of the Pampatar Main Coast Guard Station, troops assigned to the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim), Regional Anti-Drug Intelligence Unit 71, Migration of the Bolivarian National Police and the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces (Inea).
The mixed commission proceeded to carry out the respective retention of the tanker, complying with instructions from the commander of the Eastern Comprehensive Maritime and Insular Defense Operational Zone (Zodimainor), Vice Admiral Leonardo Alberto Castellano Molina, who also ordered the pertinent investigations to be carried out.
On January 5, the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) rescued 26 people who would be taken to Guyana on a boat that would set sail from Punta de Piedra, Barrancas del Orinoco (Monagas). Two Venezuelans were detained there for that incident.
