Paddington Returns

The third Paddington Bear film will be released in the country’s cinemas on January 16, 2025. In this sequel, the character will return to Peru to look for his aunt Lucy and will live a new adventure, in emblematic places such as Cusco, Lima and the Amazon rainforest.

Paddington was created in 1956 by the English writer Michael Bond. The character was inspired by a teddy bear that the author saw, during a Christmas holiday, in a shop window located near Paddington train station in London. Two years later, in 1958, Bond published a book titled “A Bear Called Paddington,” where the protagonist is the aforementioned mammal.

Paddington is a spectacled bear or Andean bear (or ukumari in Quechua), a unique species that lives in South America and whose largest population is in Peru. According to the story, this character was sent by his aunt Lucy to England and found at Paddington train station by members of the Brown family. They decided to adopt him and name him after the place where they saw him for the first time.
