Alba-TCP rejects new coercive measures imposed on Venezuela

ALBA-TCP reaffirms solidarity with the Cuban people in the face of the energy situation

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (Dawn-TCP) expressed this Saturday its rejection of the new unilateral coercive measures imposed against the country during the swearing-in ceremony of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

“The unscrupulous extortionate and criminal measures imposed in unison by the American, Canadian, British and European Union governments, while the presidential swearing-in ceremony was taking place, reflect the cruelty, complicity and obvious premeditation of governments of the corporate West, to harm the peace and stability of a free, sovereign and independent nation such as Venezuela,” says the release shared on your web portal.

The bloc explained that as part of the aggression plan in this new phase, “the US State Department, without the slightest legal basis, publishes advertisements with rewards against the President of Venezuela and several of his collaborators”, in order to try to harm the country’s institutions and put the safety and integrity of those affected at risk.

The text emphasized that the people and governments of Alba-TCP repudiate these measures of aggression against Venezuela, and are confident that the head of state will know how to lead the nation along the path of prosperity and peace.

Below is the full text of the statement:

The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) reject the attacks against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, including unilateral coercive measures against State officials, announced this January 10, 2025, during the investiture of President Nicolás Maduro Moros for the constitutional period 2025-2031.

The unscrupulous extortionate and criminal measures imposed in unison by the American, Canadian, British and European Union governments, while the presidential inauguration ceremony was taking place, reflect the cruelty, complicity and obvious premeditation of governments of the corporate West, to harm the peace and stability of a free, sovereign and independent nation such as Venezuela.

As a perverse complement to the aggression plan in this new phase, the US State Department, without the slightest legal basis, publishes advertisements with rewards against the President of Venezuela and several of his collaborators, with the aim of trying to harm Venezuelan institutions and of putting the safety and integrity of those affected at risk and, consequently, threatening the peace of the country. Likewise, they announce visa restrictions against Venezuelan citizens, showing an action foreign to International Law and the most basic norms of civility.

The people and governments of ALBA-TCP express their total repudiation against these maliciously orchestrated measures of aggression against Venezuela, with the assurance that President Nicolás Maduro, with his experience and wisdom, will know how to lead the Venezuelan nation along the path of prosperity. and peace, despite the imperial pretensions that rest on Latin America and the Caribbean.
