PCV calls for unity and greater mobilization to restore the Constitution

The PCV proposes the creation of a “broad alliance to fight for the restitution of the full validity of the national Constitution and the reestablishment of rights.” They assure that with the swearing-in of Nicolás Maduro a “blow to the popular will” was accomplished

The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) rejects the inauguration of Nicolás Maduro as a “blow to the popular will” and affirms that this moment “demands greater democratic and popular resistance, greater unity in action and greater mobilization.”

Through a statement published on its social networks this Friday, January 10, the PCV assures that in Venezuela “the conspiracy of power against popular sovereignty” has been consummated.

In this sense, they propose the creation of a “broad alliance to fight for the restitution of the full validity of the national Constitution and the reestablishment of rights.”

“Far from being resolved, the crisis of legitimacy is exacerbated by this swearing-in that is outside the Constitution and the laws,” the statement says.

The PCV questions the non-compliance of the National Electoral Council (CNE), an organization that did not publish the detailed results of the presidential elections held on July 28, as established by electoral regulations.

The communist leadership also rejects the actions of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ). “He refused to restore the guarantees of the electorate and validated the farce orchestrated by the PSUV to entrench itself in power.”

«To maintain its dominance, the ruling elite has resorted to repression against workers, inhabitants of popular sectors, human rights defenders, activists and political leaders. With harassment, arbitrary arrests, forced disappearances, threats to family members and psychological operations, they have created a state of permanent terror to impose their false authoritarian peace,” says the PCV.
