In the midst of the investigations carried out by the Public Ministry into the existence of an alleged prostitution network within the Congress of the Republicthe Comptroller General reported that since January 3, it has begun collecting information on the hiring of personnel for the Legal and Constitutional Office of Parliament in the period corresponding to 2023-2024.
According to the information provided by the control entity, data on the contracting processes are collected to verify that they have been carried out in accordance with current regulations.

As is known, the murder of the former employee of said office, Andrea Vidal, has put the Parliament’s Legal and Constitutional Office in its sights, where unqualified personnel would have been hired for those functions.
In addition, administrative personnel from that branch of the State have been involved in the case, such as the senior officer Giovanni Forno, as well as some congressmen, such as the former president of the Legislature Alejandro Soto, during whose administration, it has been reported, the contract of another worker involved in the case, Isabel Cajo, who worked in the office of the Popular Action congressman, Edwin Martínez.
Cajo, it is recalled, will be summoned to testify next week before the Oversight Commission to give details about her relationship with Andrea Vidal and the signing of her contract that was given through a special addendum and, it has been said, with the approval from Alliance for Progress legislator Alejandro Soto.
However, in statements to Peru21he has denied knowing Isabel Cajo and also having signed said document.
The Comptroller’s Office, for its part, reported that its work is part of its commitment to guarantee the good use of public resources and promote transparency in public management.
