The first national leader Nicolás Maduro held a series of meetings this Friday night with several special envoys from Europe, Asia and with the secretary general of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
After his swearing-in as constitutional president for the period 2025-2031, the head of state received at the Miraflores Palace, first, the vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of ChinaWang Dongming, sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
He then held a meeting with the Secretary General of OPEC, Haitham Al-Ghais, and with the Secretary General of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, Mohamed Hamel, with the aim of strengthening relations regarding exports, production and agreements in the oil sectors. and gas.
Subsequently, he met with the head of the delegation of the Russian Federation and the president of the DUMA (parliament), Vyacheslav Volodin, where they strengthened ties of friendship and cooperation for the benefit of the people of both nations.
Likewise, Maduro held a meeting with the president of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, in which they reviewed the status of relations between Venezuela and the European country, showing interest in advancing in areas such as tourism, transportation, energy, agriculture, among others.
Finally, he received the former president of the Republic of Honduras Manuel Zelaya, after accompanying him in his swearing-in this January 10 as re-elected president.
