Santiago. Mayor Ulises Rodríguez expressed this Friday the hope that the Chamber of Deputies, just as the Senate did before, approves the reforms to Law 225-20 or General Law of Comprehensive Management and Processing of Solid Waste.
Rodríguez expressed the certainty that the piece will soon be converted into Law by the disputed parties, given the benefits it will bring to urban hygiene and the cleaning of the country’s rivers and maritime coasts and their ecological cleanliness.
“My experience as a deputy on three occasions tells me that when legislators know that a piece of legislation brings such important benefits to society, they give urgency to its approval,” said the administrator of Ciudad Corazón.
He said that the collection and recycling of bottles, cups and other plastic materials will be like an injection of fresh air for local governments, since it will greatly improve the final disposal of waste that does not degrade until after hundreds of years.
