SLP, Mexico.- Edmundo González Urrutia, Venezuelan opposition leader and legitimate winner of the elections held on July 28, as demonstrated by the scrutiny records collected and published by the opposition and civil society, denounced This Friday, January 10, Nicolás Maduro violated the Constitution and carried out a coup d’état.
In a statement shared through his social networks, González Urrutia highlighted that the Chavista has crowned himself dictator and does not have the support of democratic governments.
“The people do not accompany him. He is not accompanied by any government that is respected as democratic. Only the dictators of Cuba, the Congo and Nicaragua,” he said in his forceful message.
In his speech, he reiterated that he continues to work on the conditions for his entry into Venezuela and assume the presidency of the Republic and the command in chief of the National Armed Forces: “As the Constitution mandates and the people have ordered me to do so.”
Venezuelan compatriots!
I represent the will of almost 8 million Venezuelans within the country, and that of the millions of compatriots who were prevented from voting abroad, and I have the duty to defend that commitment. pic.twitter.com/697Z9ISP08

The elected president of Venezuela has denounced the decision of the regime to close the country’s borders and bomb the military planes that guard the airspace to prevent their return; and this shows Maduro’s “cowardice and lack of scruples.”
“Soon, very soon, even if they do what they do, we will be able to enter Venezuela and we will put an end to this tragedy. I am very close to Venezuela. I am ready for safe and timely entry. “I will assert the votes that represent the recovery of our democracy,” he stressed.
In order to re-enter his country, he stated, he is coordinating factors and establishing links with the international democratic community, most of which have recognized him as the legitimate president of Venezuela.
From his role as commander in chief, he asked the military high command to ignore illegal orders given to him by Ripe and his entourage and prepare the security conditions to assume the position of President of the Republic.
“The soldiers of our National Armed Forces are part of the same people and to whom they owe obedience through me, since today I am elected president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and thanks to a majority of votes expressed at the polls,” he acknowledged.
Previously, opposition leader María Corina Machado explained that González Urrutia’s safety is a priority to promote the political transition; He also referred to the increase in security operations and denounced arbitrary arrests after the protests.
Maduro makes the fraud official
Nicolás Maduro was sworn in this Friday for a third term as president of Venezuela before the National Assembly, without exhibiting the ballots that prove his questioned electoral victory last July.
Meanwhile, the opposition, which did present 85% of the electoral records, gave proof that the true winner of the elections was Edmundo González Urrutia.
In a ceremony held in the Elliptical Hall of Parliament, controlled by Chavismo, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, imposed the presidential sash on Maduro at 10:53, Caracas time.
This investiture occurred just one day after an opposition march that culminated in reports of a brief arrest of the leader María Corina Machado, something that the regime called an “invention.”
