Huancavelica: University teacher dies after falling into the Mantaro River on the Lircay – Ocopa highway

A car lost its way and fell into the Mantaro River at kilometer 04 of the Lircay – Ocopa highway. Personnel from the Fire Company and Serenazgo arrived at the scene and rescued the body of a man.

This is the university professor identified as Franklin Surichaqui Gutiérrez, who lost his life. The victim’s relatives arrived at the scene to identify the body. The news has shocked the family and student community.

Franklin Surichaqui, was a professor at the National University of Huancavelica of the Professional School of Civil Engineering. Given the unfortunate news, the university issued a statement of condolences. “His dedication, commitment and teaching vocation have left an indelible mark on our institution and on the training of its students, who will always remember the valuable teachings that he shared with dedication and passion.”
