Through a press conference, the organizers of the tunantada festival in Jauja, ratified the holding of the most important festival in the Mantaro Valley on Luis Bardales and Clodoaldo Espinoza streets, in the La Libertad neighborhood starting on Monday the 20th. of January.
The announcement was made in the Plazuela del Folklore in the La Libertad neighborhood, yesterday, Thursday, January 9, at 11:00 in the morning, with the participation of the president of the National Association of Tunante Institutions of January 20 Yauyos (Jauja ), Percy Sánchez, his board of directors, the full delegates, dancers and a typical orchestra, as well as the commissioner of Jauja, Cdte. PNP Jhony Gonzales Lara, the president of the La Libertad de Jauja neighborhood, from where they reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out the party.
La Libertad neighborhood
Percy Sánchez pointed out that the tunantada festival, on January 20, is given in honor of the patron saints San Sebastián and San Fabián, the same one that will take place in the La Libertad neighborhood, from 50 meters from the colonial arch down to others 50 more meters below the Jauja video surveillance booth in a space of 5 thousand square meters.
On January 20, starting at 12:00 p.m., in the Plazuela del Folklore in the La Libertad neighborhood, the national bully contest is held, with cash prizes being disputed.
From January 21 to 25 are the bullfighting days, with the participation of 30 institutions, each with its typical orchestra. On January 24 and 25, starting at 1 in the afternoon, the bullfight will be showcased.
Party broke expectations
There will be spaces for the sale of typical dishes. Each criminal institution will have its tent for the sale of drinks.
Meanwhile, in the Plaza Jerga de Yauyos, at 1:00 p.m. on January 9, the District Municipality of Yauyos held the official launch of the 2025 tunantera party at a press conference with the motto: Yauyos paradise and capital of the tunantada, event that will have the participation of the mayor (e) of the Provincial Municipality of Jauja, Raimundo Flores and the first councilor Marino Villalva.
Also attending was the director of the Dircetur Junín, Julio Alberto Abanto Llaque, the head of the PNP police station of Jauja, Cdte. PNP Jhony Gonzales, the municipal manager of the Yauyos commune, José Martínez Cornejo, among other personalities.
