He Peruvian government has just officially ruled on the illegal swearing-in of Nicolas Maduro as president of Venezuela and has categorically rejected it.
Through a statement released through the social networks of the Presidency of Peru, the current administration he repudiated the takeover of the dictator and showed solidarity with the plains people.
“The popular will, the only legitimate origin of a government, was expressed mostly in favor of Edmundo Gonzalezwhom Peru recognizes as elected president of Venezuela“, it reads.
Likewise, it is noted that “the Government of Peru regrets and rejects that Nicolas Maduro has fraudulently assumed the presidency (…) and does not recognize him” as president.
Along the same lines, the administration of Dina Boluarte He demanded that “the recovery of democratic institutions begin -immediately- through a process of peaceful transition.”
