The member of the Usibamba peasant community, Francisco Inga, reported on the collapse of a small dam that caused a flood in San José de Quero, in the province of Concepción and blamed the regional government that invested in the work.
“This infrastructure was built by the community, but the regional government and the municipality intervened in its final section,” Inga explained, pointing out that the collapse generated alarm in the population and affected the Saís Tupac Amaru production unit.
In turn, the Natural Resources Manager of the Regional Government of Junín, Vladimir Yañez, clarified that it was a dam with a valve for the release of water, which collapsed because said valve was not opened by the residents. He assured that an evaluation will be carried out to determine the measures to follow.
