The temporary Chalapucro bridge, in Pallanchacra, Pasco, installed after the collapse of the original bridge last year, is on the verge of collapse. This structure, which only allows the passage of people, constantly puts the lives of families who depend on it to access food, medicine and other essential goods in the area at risk.
As reported by Congresswoman Nelcy Heidinger Ballesteros (APP/representative for Pasco) to this medium, her concern regarding this emergency, aggravated by the rains and the flooding of the river, forced her to urgently request Provías Descentralizado, INDECI and GOREPA to install an emergency bridge that guarantees the safety of the population.
“This bridge is no longer safe even for people. We cannot allow our families to continue being exposed to this danger. “I urge the authorities to act immediately and prioritize life above all else,” Heidinger noted.
“This is not a time for half measures or prioritizing other things, but rather a time to protect lives. “Communities need quick and effective responses, and it is our duty to work together to achieve this.”Heidinger pointed out.
A call was made to the authorities to take concrete actions to safeguard the safety and well-being of the affected families.
