From 00:00 hours on Friday, January 10, the three tolls managed by the Deviandes company (Corcona in Lima, Quilla in La Oroya and Casaracra in Paccha -Jauja) will increase the cost for the use of the central highway according to the tariff of the year 2025 that was published and that has variations to the 2024 rate, increasing the rate for cars and trucks by twenty cents from S/ 8.10 to S/ 8.30
The 02-axle trucks increase a variation of 0.40 cents from S/ 16.20 to S/16.60, the 03-axle trucks from S/ 24.20 to S/ 24.90 and so go the increases up to 07 axles, which are the ones that travel on the roads with an increase of 2.50 soles rising from S/56.50 to S/ 58.00 causing these increases discomfort in transporters and drivers who will now pay more.
Lawyer Elmer Sucasaire of the La Oroya Transporters Association pointed out that many times these increases are passed on to passengers by increasing the cost of the ticket. “Because of the attention that Deviandes has on the road and it does not deserve this increase, of which they totally disagree since it attacks the pockets of the carriers,” he said.
Just yesterday afternoon, transporters themselves filled in the holes on the Central Highway near Marcavalle in La Oroya since the road concession company does not do so.
