Three relatives of prisoners were detained at the entrance to the 26 de Julio Center for Defendants, located in San Juan de Los Morros, capital of Guárico, according to military sources.
A package of marijuana (444 grams), a package of cocaine (204 grams) and three cell phones were seized from these three people, according to a report from Detachment 341 of the Bolivarian National Guard.
The detainees were identified as Yolimar del Valle Carpio Osorio, Mirtha Beatriz Landaeta and Mauro Javier Esparragoza, who were handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office, where a file for illicit drug trafficking was opened.
Last week, the military made two drug seizures in the aforementioned Guariqueña prison. In a first procedure, they located 240 grams of cocaine paste-base that they threw from a motorcycle into the prison, the report says.
The package fell on a roof near checkpoint number 7, indicates the report from Detachment 341 of the GNB. In another procedure carried out in the aforementioned prison establishment, the officials located a crispy panela, which had previously been launched by a motorized vehicle from the street. The packaging was placed in a cardboard container that is normally used to sell juices. The drug weighed 285 grams, according to the GNB minutes.
Last December, the Ministry for the Penitentiary Service removed the director of the 26 de Julio Center for Processed Persons, Eleiner Sánchez.
