They will evaluate the reduction of holidays in the country

The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), Daniel Maurate, announced that in the next session of the National Labor Council (CNT) will propose the debate on the amount of holidays that is in the country.

Look: They propose access to 100% of the CTS until 2026

Officially, in 2024 Peru had 16 holidaysand they would be repeated this year. To this figure we must add the non-working days approved by the Executive. It should be noted that in 2020 only 12 of these days off were recorded.

“It is something that we have to evaluate because the employers sector has told us that too many holidays affects productivity,” said the head of the MTPE in statements to the press.

Likewise, he stated that it is also necessary to listen to the workers and reach a consensus at least for the debate to begin in the CNT.

On the other hand, the Minister of Labor spoke about the proposal of the Congress which proposes releasing the Compensation for Time of Service again (CTS) until December 31, 2026.

“In general, as a principle, in the sector we are very clear that everything that means provision for pensions, health and having resources when you lose your job must be maintained,” he assured. However, he clarified that they will evaluate the Legislature’s proposal in due course.
