The revolutionary people participate this Thursday in the Great March for Peace and Joy and in the Motorized Caravan ahead of the swearing-in of the President of the Republic, Nicolas Madurowhich will take place on January 10 in the National Assembly.
According to the call made, the march will have as its starting point the Great Wall of Petare, Miranda state, with a route that includes the Francisco de Miranda park, near the main headquarters of the Ministry of Housing and Habitat, the Lido Center and José Martí square.
“A great march from Petare to Plaza Brión, at the (José) Martí monument, in Chacaíto, to begin the International Antifascist Congress, where delegates from more than 100 countries will be present, who will also accompany us in the great party of the president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, on January 10,” said the first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) last Monday. For its part, the Motorized Caravan covers Plaza Sucre in Catia and the La Vega parish in Caracas.
Similar activities will be carried out in other entities in the country during this day. In the states of Bolívar, Monagas, Sucre and Zulia, the Great Anti-imperialist March I Swear with Maduro, Great patriotic march against fascism and for peace, Great caravan of motorized vehicles for peace, Great caravan against fascism, is planned. Likewise, in the state of Mérida the Anti-imperialist Tricolor Tribune will be installed in Plaza Bolívar, central sector of Mérida.
Peasant and fishing sectors support President Maduro
In statements to Venezolana de Televisión, the Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Menry Fernández, expressed that “we are in this concentration in defense of peace and in favor of the swearing-in tomorrow of our constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro.”
“We have in the Poliedro (of Caracas) 10,500 peasants, fishermen, fishermen, community members, who come from all over the country. It is a vigil-type camp for almost three days with various political activities, where we are going to hold a congress, we are going to swear in the peasant militia, the fishermen’s militia and the community militia,” he explained.
The minister added that in three weeks they already have 5,350 people registered for the peasant militia throughout the country. “It is the exercise of constitutional co-responsibility,” manifesting itself in the popular, military and police fusion. In addition, he highlighted the growth in the field that has been experienced with the policies promoted by the national government.
In turn, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, highlighted the mobilization of the revolutionary people to join the march with enthusiasm.
“The fishing sector does not escape this enthusiasm. The fishing sector today has reached a high level of its own organization with the Popular Power Councils for Fishing and Aquaculture (…) Today here in Caracas there are barely 3,000, but at the national level 150,000 fishermen and aquaculturists actively participating in production,” he stressed.
Loyo highlighted the work that has been done in the fishing sector to promote it both nationally and for export.
