This classification was of great importance for Tricolor das Laranjeiras, which, with it, guaranteed at least one spot in the Copa Sudamericana (to reach the group stage of Libertadores it is necessary to overcome the third preliminary stage).
Second half goals
Despite having a small advantage, after winning the first leg by 2 to 1 last Tuesday (22) in Colombian territory, Fluminense did not have a good first half, having many difficulties in the creation sector. Despite creating the first chance of danger, after 4 minutes, in a long shot by Willian, the Brazilian team allowed the Colombians to play with a certain tranquility, even taking danger to the goal defended by goalkeeper Fábio in some opportunities.
In the second half, Millonarios continued to create opportunities, but Fluminense showed efficiency when the chances appeared. And the first of them came in the 15th minute, when Luiz Henrique put in for Calegari, who crossed for Cano. The Argentinian finished with a masked cart. The defense managed to partially remove, and Willian Bigode took advantage and hit hard to open the marker.

With the advantage on the scoreboard, the spaces began to present themselves to Tricolor. Coach Abel Braga then decided to make a bold move, taking Argentine striker Germán Cano in for Colombian attacking midfielder Jhon Arias.
And it didn’t take long for the change to bear fruit. Two minutes after his entry, the Colombian received a through ball from Yago, started at speed and hit the goalkeeper’s exit with category to increase it to 2-0 in the 27th minute.
With the advantage built, it was up to Fluminense only to manage the game to leave with the important classification.
