From quiet beaches to historic sites, our destinations not only provide natural beauty, but also experiences for the whole family.”.
For those who are looking for ideas for a trip, Sandra Zubieta from USIL, provided a selection of destinations that stand out for their beauty, their history and the activities they offer:
- Puerto Inca Beach (Caravelí, Arequipa): This quiet seaside resort has serene and crystal-clear beaches, ideal for a family trip. One of its main attractions is the historic Inca Trail, a route that in its time was used to transport seafood to Cusco in less than a day. Currently, visitors can taste delicious marine products and enjoy listening to local legends such as that of the Inca’s golden throne, which is still unfound.
- Incahuasi of Lunahuaná (Cañete, Lima): Just three hours from Lima, this historical site known as the “New Cusco” is home to the Incahuasi Monumental Archaeological Zone, which was an administrative center of the Inca Pachacutec. With an area of 50 hectares, it stands out for its more than 100 colcas, the ceremonial Ushnu, the Inca palace and the maidens’ building. Likewise, visitors can enjoy activities such as canoeing on the Cañete River, canopy, ATVs and wine and pisco tastings.
- Huanchaco (Trujillo, La Libertad): This spa combines tradition, history and adventure. The reed horses, ancestral boats of the Mochicas, are a cultural symbol of the area. In addition, Huanchaco is a surfing paradise, with ideal waves for athletes. Its centenary pier and the colonial Virgen del Socorro church, one of the oldest in South America, are points that you cannot miss. On the other hand, the gastronomic offer includes national and international options.
- Pimentel (Chiclayo, Lambayeque): Located just 15 minutes from Chiclayo, this spa combines tradition and modernity. - La Gramita Beach (Casma, Ancash): Located at kilometer 347 of the Panamericana Norte, this white sand beach with a quiet atmosphere is perfect for relaxing. This spa is located near important archaeological sites such as Las Aldas, a hilltop observatory overlooking the sea, and the Chankillo observatory, considered the oldest in America and a World Heritage Site. Another point of interest is Sechín, a pre-Inca archaeological site located a few minutes from the city of Casma.
