What is sterilization in pets about?
Spaying is a surgical procedure in which pets’ reproductive organs are removed to prevent them from continuing to reproduce. In the case of male dogs and cats, the operation consists of removing the testicles, while in females the ovaries are removed. and, in some cases, also the uterus.
In addition to controlling reproduction, sterilization provides health benefits to pets. In females, it reduces the risk of diseases such as uterine infections or mammary tumors, while in males it reduces the probability of developing prostate or testicular problems. This procedure can also help reduce unwanted behaviors associated with heat or territoriality.
