We do not have any patients hospitalized for metapneumovirus and at this moment, I reiterate, there is no situation that should alert us,” he mentioned in a conference, and explained that the virus is being monitored in the state.
“At this time (the Metapneumovirus) does not represent an additional risk, as has been mentioned, of a new virus, a new pandemic, however, since it is a virus that frequently occurs in this winter period, especially in children and older adults.” , he clarified.
During the conference, he reported that so far this winter season, 556 cases of influenza and 6 deaths have been recorded, 19 cases of COVID-19 and 160 of other respiratory viruses.
Marroquín Escamilla also warned about the icy wave that affects Monterrey and its Metropolitan Area, with a single-digit drop in temperature, as well as urged the population to take precautions to protect themselves from the cold, and the application of vaccines.
So far this season, one million 222,832 doses of influenza and 281,027 of COVID-19 have been administered.
