On the night of last Monday, January 6, the unfortunate news of the murder of Roger Leonardo Sierra, brother of the Llaneros FC professional soccer player, Marlon Sierra, was known.

The tragic event occurred in La Virgen park, located in the Popular neighborhood of Villavicencio, and has generated consternation in the community.

According to the information, Roger tried to prevent the robbery of a woman, which produced a violent reaction from the criminals, who shot him several times.

After the incident, the young man was taken seriously injured to the Villavicencio Departmental Hospital, but he did not resist due to the severity of his injuries, despite medical efforts to save his life.

For his part, the mayor of Villavicencio, Alexander Baquero, and the directors of Llaneros regretted what happened. It should be remembered that the team obtained promotion to the First Division in December 2024.

In addition, the authorities have offered a reward of up to 30 million pesos for those who can provide information about this unfortunate event and lead to the capture of those responsible for the crime.

The Villavicencio Police have initiated an investigation to clarify the facts and capture those responsible.
