Caja Huancayo launches credit line to serve exporting MSMEs

With the objective of facilitating access to financing for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) exporters and with export potential throughout Peru, Huancayo Box and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) signed a framework agreement for inter-institutional collaboration.

From the financial institution they point out that they are looking for a differentiating factor for clients.

Through this agreement, the first that Mincetur signs with a Municipal Fund, which was signed between the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Teresa Mera and the president of the Board of Directors of Caja Huancayo, Jorge Solís Espinoza last Thursday, it is expected to place around S/35 million in credits for foreign trade, serving more than a thousand exporting entrepreneurs and with export potential nationwide.

With this agreement, both institutions commit to working together to expand the offering of financial products and strengthen the capacities of MSMEs. In this sense, Caja Huancayo will develop and offer financial products designed specifically for the needs of exporting MSMEs, including lines of credit for pre- and post-shipment, working capital and among others.

The representative of Caja Huancayo stated that, although the initial financing line is S/30 million, it is very certain that they will quickly escalate in the next 5 years to more than approximately S/500 million. “That is the objective and this is the starting point for a new opportunity to benefit that vast sector that is the cushion of the economy,” he said.

In this regard, the vice minister indicated that, due to investments in port and airport infrastructure, the recent inauguration of the port of Chancay, the signing of two trade agreements and the new sanitary accesses for agricultural products, great opportunities are opening up for Peruvian companies, which They must be prepared to take advantage of this moment and continue positioning themselves in international markets, with access to financing being a key pillar for this.
