The former Minister of Culture, Milagros Germanthanked the president Luis Abinader “for the opportunity to be part of a historic government that has worked tirelessly,” after his resignation from that institution was made public this Tuesday.
Germán assured through his social networks that With his departure from the Government he takes with him “learnings, achievements and eternal gratitude.”
“The Diva”as the former official is known in the world of entertainment, also stated that the president will have his support.
Earlier, Abinader published a letter dated December 18, 2024, with which he accepted the resignation, which would be effective from January 15 of this year.
In the letter, the ruler recognized the achievements of Germán during his time in office and stated that with his work “he has unlocked initiatives that had been stagnant for years,” allowing the cultural development of the country.
Among the notable results, Abinader mentioned the modernization of the cultural awards cycle, the reactivation of the relationship with Berklee College of Music and the consolidation of the Marca País Book Fair.
Germán started on the government train as the spokesperson for the President of the Republic, from the National Palace, from where she was moved to the Ministry of Culture. Now, as it was learned, La Diva will dedicate herself to her personal projects.
