SANTO DOMINGO ESTE.- The First Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo Este and Norte sentenced 20 years in prison for a man who sexually raped a seven-year-old boyin an event that occurred in the year 2023.
The sentence was imposed on the victim’s step-grandfathername omitted to protect the identity of the child.
The child told the mother that, in his capacity as a trusted person, the man, who was his grandmother’s romantic partner, took advantage of being alone with the infant to sexually rape him, an attack to which he was subjected from the age of 5. years old.
The file implemented by the investigating prosecutor Leidy Marte, establishes that January 31, 2023the victim’s mother informed the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the facts after the child confessed to her what had happened.
In the substantive trial, prosecutors Alexis Casado and Juan Alberto Olivares demonstrated before the court the criminal responsibility of the defendant today, for having violated articles 330 of the Dominican Penal Code, modified by Law 24-97, which typifies and sanctions Sexual Rape and articles 12,13, 14,16, 18 and 396 of Law 136-03, which establishes the Code for the Protection of the Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents.
The sentence must be served by the defendant in the La Victoria National Penitentiary.
