The Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER) predicted rain throughout the territory, mainly in the Caribbean and the northern part of the country, during the next seven days. He also announced the entry of a cold front that comes down from the Gulf of Mexico and will mainly affect the northern and central areas of the country.
«In recent days we have had accumulated rain in the North Caribbean and South Caribbean regions, due to a trough on the Caribbean coasts. This will persist during this week, so we will have rain in these seven days,” said Manuel Prado, director of climate change at INETER.
For the Pacific and northern regions of the country, the expert states that there will be partially cloudy skies; with chances of light rains, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
Cold front entry
Prado indicated that with respect to temperatures, they will vary according to the area of the country. It is expected that with the entry of the new cold front, temperatures in the northern region of Nicaragua will drop to 16 degrees Celsius at night and early in the morning.

“There will be a reduction in temperatures, especially at night and early morning, with values that could reach 16 degrees in the highest parts of the country and up to 24 degrees in the Pacific regions,” highlighted the specialist.
According to the Ofena Natural Phenomena Observatory, for the rest of the country, minimum temperatures will drop to 23 degrees in the Pacific, 18 and 20 degrees in the mining triangle and 19 degrees in the northern Caribbean of the country.
In the case of maximum temperatures, they will range between 29 and 35 degrees for the Pacific, for the north they will be between 23 and 26 degrees and for the Caribbean between 29 and 34 degrees.
Both institutions warned of moderate winds for the North and South Caribbean, with waves up to two meters high, so they called on small boats to navigate with caution and listen to the guidance of naval authorities.
