Proinversión plans to award, during the first four months of this year, seven projects that represent investments exceeding US$2.8 billion, through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Asset Projects (PA) mechanisms.
The agency reported that the awards will begin tomorrow with the Chincha wastewater treatment and final disposal or reuse project – WWTP Chincha, which will benefit 345,000 inhabitants of seven districts of this province in the Ica region.
This project, with a reference investment of US$96.5 million, contemplates the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of approximately 21 kilometers of main collection networks and drive lines, a pumping station, two treatment plants with a total capacity of 0.6 cubic meters per second and 7.7 kilometers of lines for the final disposal of treated wastewater. The benefited districts are Chincha Alta, Chincha Baja, Grocio Prado, Pueblo Nuevo, Alto Larán, Sunampe and Tambo de Mora.
Upcoming projects
In February, Proinversión is scheduled to award four electrical transmission and substation projects, grouped in the so-called Group 3, with an estimated investment of US$134 million. These projects seek to reinforce the supply of electrical energy, increasing its reliability and capacity, for the benefit of approximately 2.3 million people in Apurímac, Arequipa, Lima and Puno.
Five pre-qualified bidders will participate in the bidding for these initiatives, which include:
New Palca 220 kV Substation and LT 220 kV Palca-La Pascana (Arequipa).
220 kV Planicie–Industriales Link (Lima).
138 kV Abancay Nueva–Andahuaylas (Apurímac) link.
138 kV Link San Rafael–Ananea Derivation (Puno).
In addition, the Longitudinal project of the Sierra Section 4 is expected to be awarded, with an estimated cost of US$1,582 million, which will benefit 1.6 million inhabitants in the regions of Junín, Huancavelica, Ica, Ayacucho and Apurímac. This project covers 955 kilometers of highway, of which:
627 kilometers will receive initial periodic maintenance.
148 kilometers will be rehabilitated and improved.
The Vía Evitamiento de San Clemente will be built, in Ica, with an extension of 5 kilometers.
The remaining section will be transferred by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) for operation and maintenance from the beginning of the concession.
On the other hand, the award of the Ancón Industrial Park (PIA) is planned, with an investment of US$997 million. This project aims to consolidate a productive and logistical corridor that connects Lima, Callao (Port and Jorge Chávez International Airport) and Chancay (Port). The objective is to develop an integrated ecosystem in which small, medium and large companies generate synergies and establish new industrial, commercial and technological relationships.
With these initiatives, Proinversión seeks this year to strengthen investor confidence and consolidate a model of effective collaboration between the public and private sectors. In 2024, the agency closed with 16 awards for a total amount of US$9 billion, the highest figure recorded in the last decade.
