Telenoche: Luis Suárez, witness of a suicide attempt in Uruguay

What a bad experience he had to go through Luis Suarez last Friday night in Ciudad de la Costa, in Uruguay, where the footballer was on vacation. According to the media ‘Telenoche’, the Inter Miami forward witnessed the suicide attempt of a 49-year-old man who had climbed a tree with a rope and who threatened to take his own life if his wife did not appear. Suárez tried to negotiate with him to get that idea out of his head. There was a happy ending.

‘Telenoche’ reports that Suárez arrived in the company of a member of the NGO ‘Estudios en Psicología Social’. “Luis Suárez approached us and what we did, in this moment of tension, was try to speak in an empathetic and close way so that he would not prolong his action, even though this man has been here fighting for his life since yesterday,” explains Andrea, member of the organization.

‘El Observador’ reports for its part that Luis Suárez and his wife Sofía Balbi were in the region when the man decided to hang himself from this tree. The striker, who is on vacation in Uruguay, owns a house on the Solymar promenade, right next to the City of the Coast where the man climbed the tree. After intense negotiations between the Republican Guard and the prefecture, he was taken down and handed over to the domestic violence unit of the Ministry of the Interior.
