A new regulation in which the best of three rounds wins will be tested at the Puerto Rico Open G2, scheduled for next April.
The Island of Enchantment will be the stage where the updated Kyorugi (combat) rulebook will be applied for the first time in the area.
This time it will be held in the junior divisions, for which the referees participating in the tournament must receive an update, according to the Pan American Taekwondo Union (Patu for its acronym in English).
One of the most relevant changes to the regulations is that if a competitor wins two times in a row, he will be the winner of the fight.

Cuba will not have any representative due to the cumbersome processing of a visa to Puerto Rico, a consequence of the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for 60 years.
In total, about 15 amendments to the regulation were made.
